| Aside from Lewisville Lake and
Lake Grapevine, which offer Lewisville and other area residents sun and fun,
many other recreational opportunities are available. Fifty-eight full-time
staff members make up Lewisville's Parks & Leisure Services (PALS), which
manages 23 parks, the Senior Center, the Hedrick House (for seminars,
banquets, etc.), and the recreation centers. Civic Circle Recreation Center
is a 27,000 square foot exercise facility with two gyms, four racquetball
courts, three large classrooms, a game lounge/lobby and a fitness center.
Memorial Park Recreation Center is a 19,000 square foot facility with a gym,
three classrooms, game lounge and fitness center. PALS also manages 2
swimming pools, 2 libraries, the Vista Ridge Amphitheater, 8 soccer fields
and 13 baseball/softball fields. Over one hundred organized classes are
offered at the "Rec" Center for both adults and children.
