The Lewisville area is served by an outstanding road system making the Metroplex
a leading business center and the hub of a vast, efficient transportation
network. The city is surrounded by major highways, which provide excellent
travel in any direction. Interstate 35E (Stemmons Freeway) provides access south
into downtown Dallas and to neighboring cities to the north. I-35 also
intersects with Interstate 635 (LBJ Freeway), the major business loop around
Dallas. State Highway 121, which travels north and south, gets travelers from
Lewisville to DFW Airport in less than 10 minutes.
The Dallas North Tollway extension from I-635 also intersects
at 121. FM 3040 (Round Grove Rd.) provides travel west of I-35 to International
Parkway and Long Prairie Rd. (FM 2499) in Flower Mound. FM 1171 (Main St.) runs
east/west and connects I-35W in the western part of Denton County to I-35E, and
FM 407 (Justin Rd.) runs west from I-35E in Lewisville to the Denton/Wise County
Line. Many of these roads have recently been improved or are currently being
improved through construction. The President George Bush Freeway conveniently
connects North Dallas to the growing Lewisville area.
